Universal testing instrument DAMI-C provides the impedance, eddy current, impact testing methods. DAMI-C is intended for inspection of metallic and non-metallic composite parts and honeycomb structures.

This device allows to automate the defect detection process due to automatic setting of the transducer on the testing object with regard to the material density and structure.

DAMI-C enables to detect and make C-images of defects in metal or non-metal composite parts and honeycomb structures. It also provides detection of corrosion of nonferromagnetic alloys in different aviation constructions.

Following testing methods are provided by this device:

Impedance testing method - testing and detection of disbonds, delaminations, density anomalies for a wide spectrum of composite and honeycomb structures and materials. Build of C-images of detected defects.

Impact testing method - express testing of honeycomb structures and building of interpolated images of the tested areas.

Low frequency eddy current testing method - testing and detection of corrosion hearths on the reverse of non-ferromagnetic material sheets and building of the corroded zone images.

High-frequency eddy current testing method - detection of cracks appearing on the surface of electroconductive parts: rods, pipes, sheets, plates, coatings, including multilayer ones, frames of nuclear reactors, bearing balls and rollers, fastening parts, etc.

Resonance testing method - multilayer composites tested to detect delaminations.

Functional capabilities:

- automated setting by signal amplitude or phase, using the spectrum analyzer. Simplifies setting-up of the device.

- C-images of tested area to estimate configuration of detected flaws, determine their sizes and area.

- Tracking of the probe trajectory during the testing process enables to appreciate the testing quality.

- The archive of settings and testing results is provided for the device. 500 testing object settings and over 1000 testing results can be saved in the archive.

Tested workpieces and constructions

- Multilayer non-metal constructions (coal plastics, glass-fibre plastics, textolites);

- Honeycomb structures with nonmetal sheathings;

- Honeycomb structures with metal sheathings;

- Multilayer bonded constructions (2, 2, 4 layers);

- Rough honeycomb and other structures with regularly alternating surface impedance;

- Non-ferromagnetic sheet metal constructions.
