I. Usage and range
This instrument is designed according to the request of People’s Republic of China standard GB/1841 “Polyolefin Resin Solution Viscosity Test Method”. It is applicable for determining the viscosity of decalin solution of polyethylene and polypropylene under the set temperature according to GB/1841. This instrument is also applicable for determining the bitumen specimen dynamic viscosity under set temperature according to People’s Republic of China industrial standard T0620 “Bitumen Dynamic Viscosity Test (Vacuum Pressure Reduction Capillary Method)” (idt: ASTM D2171, JIS and AASHTO T202).

III. Structure
The instrument is composed by capillary viscometer, mercury thermometer, motorized mixing device, electrical heating device, temperature controller, glass constant tempertaure water bath, light, and so on.
IV. Characteristics
(1) Galss constant temperature water bath: it adopts φ300×300mm hard glass pot. There are three 3 holes on the cover for the capillary viscometer clip and bakelite cover.
(2) It adopts the 200V, 38W2D fluorescent lamp for observating the reading on the viscometer.
(3) Temperature controller:
a. Temperature sensor: Industry platinum resistor, the division number is Pt100.
b. Temperature controllor: intelligent, has the function of PID self-adjusting and four figures LED window indication. Temperature control quickly, quick respond, accuracy ±0.1°C.
c. Heating system: 600W disc type electrical heating pipe for heating. It can adjust the output by the control silicon automatically to ensure the stability of the bath temperature.
(4) Mixing system: motorized mixer is single phase asynchronous motor, mixing even, the temperature controlling reaches to the request of the technical index.
(5) Vacuum pressure reduction system: advanced DC micro vacuum pump, small volume (35*51*68), low power consumption (40W), have flow (5L/min), low noise, long life; pressure digital display, automatic constant pressure, adopting mini-pressure transmitter, high accuracy programmable meter, stable working.
