Wedge Prism

Wedge prism generally are quite thin and the input and output faces are nearly parallel. A beam of light passing through a wedge prism is deviated by an angle determined, to first order, by the wedge angle and the refractive index. The refractive index does of course vary slightly with wavelength. These wedge prisms can be used to give small controlled variations in beam direction and in pairs can quite accurately control the direction of a beam.
