The RDS7-BB is the most versatile and easy to use electronic ball banking system for determining safe curve speed.

The RDS7-BB-09 digital ball banking unit features an audible alert, an LCD displaying angle to 0.01º, RS232 output (instant readouts right to your laptop), and programmable trip angles - make this the most versatile and easy to use ball banking instrument available. It does not require a second operator to record the angle, the audible alarm alerts the driver allowing him to keep his eyes on the road - more cost effective and safer to operate.

Descr iption: The RDS7_BB model was specifically designed for determining safe cur ve speed of horizontal curves and road signing without the need for a passenger or observer .

The digital ball banking unit has a single line LCD display showing angle or slope in degr ees. It has a built-in buzzer that is set to alarm at ±10° of angle, which is the limiting angle used by most traffic engineer s in the US -

however please verify this with your state DOT. The display has built-in LEDs. The Gr een LED will light when the angle is within the ±10º range, the Red LED indicates when under or over the limiting angle (>±10º). Note: this angle is field adjustable if required by your DOT.

As you drive through a curve, the micr oprocessor r ecords the largest positive and negative angles measured since the last reset. The most negative angle is r ecorded as a left tur n and the most positive angle is recor ded as a right turn, which would allow the operator to drive an S cur ve in one sweep. Once the driver has finished going through a curve, the driver presses the MIN/MAX button once - the left angle is displayed - driver pr esses the button again - the Right angle is displayed - driver pr esses the button a thir d time to reset the display.
