Introduction
To show a best performance of transmission belts, one of the most important thing is
proper tension strength.
" Pencil type belt tension gauge " is light weight & handy. (Φ11.4×195mm)
You can measure easier than now!
How to use
1) Measure the "span length" (It is indicated in Figure 2)
• The "span length" is a part of the belt length which don't contact with pulleys.
(If diameters of both pulleys are same, "span length" is equal to wheel-base.)
2) Caluculate the "bended depth" (It is indicated in Figure 1 & Figure 2)
3) Set the big O-ring (Please look at Figure 3 & Figure 4)
• Set the big O-ring at scale of bended depth.
(example: "span length" = 500mm → set the big O-ring at scale of 8mm)
4) Set the small O-ring (Please look at Figure 3 & Figure 4)
• Set the small O-ring at scale of zero.
5) Push the gauge & measure a tension (Please look at Figure 1 & Figure 5)
• At the middle point of "span length" , push the gauge.
• Please push till the big O-ring come to a same level as the outer circumference of the belt.
(It means a position of the belt existed before pushing)
6) Read the tension (Please look at Figure 3 & Figure 4)
• A scale of the small O-ring is the tension.
• Multiplied case, please average all tensions.
7) Adjust the tension
• Adjust the tension between min. and max. indicated in Table 1.
