The 1150 series UV absorption ozone monitor was designed primarily for Environmental Research to measuree ozone concentration in an ambient air. Due to its specific features such as high repeatability and high resolution, the UV absorption ozone monitor is often applied as a "secondary standard" for calibration of oxydant monitor by Kl method.
Further, the 1150 series is used for a field application of ozone monitoring due to its stable and rigid structure.The 1150 series is also designed for low maintenance and uniterrupted use. We recommend regular maintenance only once per year.
In addition, the microprocessor control allows the instrument to perform many self-diagnostics. If any of the parameters critical to reliable measurement are arwy, the instrument will give an "instrument error" signal. both on the display and a relay output.
As for, fundamental principle of measurement, ozone absorbs UV lights at 253.7 m (This is confused by the fact that UV light generated ozone at wavelengths around 180 nm). The concentration of ozone can therefore be directly calculated by measuring the amount of UV light absorbed.
The 1150 series senses the intensity of the UV lamp when the latter is beamed through ozone-free, or "reference", gas.
