This 100X objective will fit all full-sized college and high school microscopes. It provides 1000X with a 10X eyepiece, 1500X with a 15X eyepiece, and 2000X with a 20X eyepiece. These powers of eyepieces are available as an option if you do not have one. This power is suitable for viewing the smallest specimens that are viewable using light transmission. This includes bacteria and details of small cells. This highest power objective (100X) is an oil immersion objective. It requires immersion oil to give its best images. This is not included but is widely sold on eBay and elsewhere. Using an oil immersion objective is the only way to get high resolution images at powers of 1000X and greater.
