Should the temperature exceed 100 degree celsius, the device will send out alarm together with red warning light.
The sensor is attached to the cooling water inlet or outlet pipe or engine block (casing)with a screw. The heat is transferred through the pipe or engine case on to the sensor. This mechanism is similar to putting your finger on a kettle of hot water - with the difference that your finger cannot measure or display numbers.
So, a distinct advantage is that the sensor attachment won't interfere any engine parts.
And at 900 Baht ( US$ 33 ), it is definitely more cost effective than taking apart a damaged engine !
Note: For installation, try to avoid direct sunlight ! If you could install the alarm near the steering wheel or somewhere in the dash board, you will be able to better read the digital temperature. The less sunlight, the better !
