The BIN-05 digital data interface console is designed for use with all IFG Corporation digital borehole probes. This module accepts the binary data from the probe, digital pulses from the depth encoder and the ASCII input data from any external RS 232 compatible device. This combined data record is send to the serial port of a standard microcomputer for the display and recording of the data. The unit provides power to the borehole probe and will automatically determine the baud rate and which IFG digital probe is connected.
The BIN-05 console also generates the alternating current for the induced polarization measurement. The IP current setting has a range from 10mA to 400mA and can be run in either manual or automatic scaling mode. The IP measurement can be conducted with the BRS-01 resistivity probe or the BMP-04, BMP-06 multi parameter probes. All three probes have a large dynamic measuring range of +/- 50 Volt and a sensitivity of 0.1mV. The IP interface console computes the chargeability from the 16 and 48-inch normal resistivity array data.
