BF-85 Colorimeter

1.Usage and applicable scope

This tester is suitable to measure the color of lubricant and other petroleum as per ASTM D1500.

It is tested by filling the sample of petroleum product into the colorimetric tube and comparing

it with the standard filter to determine the chromaticity and color number.

2.Major technical parameters

Power supply: bulb: 220V, 100W, 2750+50K (temperature), inner dull-polished, milky shell.

Colorimetric tube: colorless and flat-bottom glass tube(inner diameterΦ32.5~Φ33.4mm, 120~130mm high).

Standard color disk: 26 light slits (Φ14). 25 of them are installed with glass sheet of standard

color as per the sequence from No.1 to No. 26. Slit No. 26 is blank.

3.Performance features

(1). The observation eyepiece is comprised of a concave mirror and convex mirror. You can see

both the colors of specimen and standard color.

(2). The optical eyepiece can adjust the light and focus, hence, convenient to operate.

(3). It is featured of reasonable structural design and convenient operation.

(4). The color number conforms to ASTM D1500 Color Number.

4.Attentions

(1). The focal length and light of the optical eyepiece system have been correctly adjusted.

Dont move it during operation. Adjust it carefully, if necessary.

(2). Put the colorimetric tube loaded with the specimen into the tester. Clean the surface and

bottom of the tube.

(3). The glass sheet of standard color shall be calibrated with the color solution as specified in

ASTM D1500. If you find that the sheet color differs from that of the color solution by one color

number, it shall be changed to a new color disk or re-calibrated by the supplier.

5.Composition

This tester is comprised of a standard color disk, observation lens, light source and colorimetric tube.

The spectral signature of standard light after the light source is filtered through the milky white

glass sheet and sunlight glass filter is similar to the north light. The standard light is transformed

to two horizontal light beams after the plane mirror and prism and their size and shape are exactly

same. They can shine on the colored glass of the standard color disk and specimen of the

colorimetric tube respectively and evenly.

The standard color disk has 26 Φ14 light slits. Rotate the handle of the standard color disk to

right of the tester to choose the correct color during the colorimetric test of specimen.

The colorimetric tube is put from the small cover at top of the tester.

The observation eyepiece is comprised of a concave mirror and convex mirror. The optical eyepiece

can adjust the light and focus.
