Overview

There are a number of methods for measuring the total luminous quantity of a light sources but the integrating sphere is a manstream tool for measuring the total light flux.

The integrating sphere has highly reflective diffusing plates formed on the sphere's internal surfaces. These plates repeatedly scatter light rays from the light source within the sphere to all other points to deliver uniform brightness distriution so measuring a portion of that light gives the total luminous flux.

This sphere was specifically designed to deliver measurement technology from the standpoint of the user and work environment needed to handle rugged conditions and weather yet provide good serviceability and an optimal shape to match any light source.
